Ahoy there! I wanna introduce myself, I am Kelly and this the new No Need To Study blog, today is a special day – today is the day we’re gonna come out with the whole story and give everyone the facts on stuff that has went down at No Need To Study for the last 13 months. Today we launch the No Need To Study, I’m super thrilled to be the person doing this, having the opportunity to present to you the awesome people who make No Need To Study happen and also give you the downlow on just what the heck we’re trying to do here at No Need To Study (hint- we’re more Steve Jobs than Al Capone).

So what happened? We’re getting a baker’s dozen (at least) of clients asking us each week what’s gone down and how our firm has changed, so yeah – we have had some changes happen over the last 14 months. So before I get in to all that, I should go back a bit so as to put it all in context, I have to go back just a bit, like back to 2008 – Oliver Warburg and Andrea Haler McConnell. Our beloved founders started No Need To Study in 2008, that was a monumental year (for me especially, I lost 3 jobs in 1 year, whew), so they started it as a side job at (get this!) different universities they were studying in, anyway, they started this thing and once they began they got so many clients that their companies were getting written about in the New York times and covered by all sorts of media. So they had never met and at that point the firms were entirely different, the market for class help, test help and essay help was just in its infancy and they were super smart people offering solutions mostly to students studying with them at their Ivy League universities. But soon enough they discovered that their websites were bringing in way more clients than just word of mouth and Andrea by some magical coincidence read about the website Oliver had set up that was becoming the leader in the ‘class help’ space, so she shot him an email asking him if he was up for a partnership, this was in late 2008 and that was what started it all. In the middle of a recession, they got together and started making it together. To be fair, they were a great team.

So the basic principles to what we do at No Need To Study it never changed, Andrea, having been raised all over the world and having had exposure to international students she realized that class help was not a seedy side area to be kept in the dark, from the bringing she was convinced that it was an integral component for students as classes were so rigid, students needed help without a doubt, so that was our guiding principle. We’ve expanded that a bit, to get a good idea be sure to check out our ethos, stated in its entirety here. Till 2013 (I joined the firm circa 2012 ~ a fun story but one for later time) No Need To Study was so busy helping students take online classes and assisting with tests and such that we never really thought about the impact we were having (obviously mainstream media did) but we were oblivious to it for the most part, in 2013 we stopped and took stock, we’d become the number one class help firm in America, without any question of a doubt, we’d been written by virtually every mainstream media outlet from NYT, CNN, Economist and ABC News to the small ones like Huffo Po so we were definitely at the top of our game, but all that was nonsense to us as our firm was entirely misunderstood by not just the people writing about us, people hiring us and even some of our managers and investors. After we took stock, we decided to do a complete overhaul of our operation; this included banishing the anonymity that we’d enjoyed till then. We decided to bring ourselves out and make everything clear as we had grown to hate what the anonymous firms were doing, we are not them and they are not us. What we do is righteous, we help students – students who have very few choices, we don’t extort them, we care about them – our services are ethical and moral and what we do creates a positive impact. With all this in mind we started going about overhauling our service, getting rid of everything we didn’t need, after a lot of soul searching we decided to re-do our website, hire new folks, focus on ensuring that all our employees had the same values and all this resulted in a sea of change in 2014.
