How to Cheat on Examity

1. Unauthorized devices: A lot of wannabe cheaters with Examity exams try using smartphones, hidden earbuds and similar devices, to exchange answers or receive assistance from other students but this requires you to have a partner who knows the subject and quickly answer your questions or you will run out of time. Also, taking pictures of the screen is something Examity proctors watch for closely so this is not a good way to cheat.
2. Hidden notes: We have come across many instances where students wanting to cheat on Examity try to create hidden physical copies of notes or use electronic devices, such as smartphones or smartwatches, to store and refer to information during the WGU exam. This is a bad idea because looking up answers takes time and you are watched by Examity proctors who can flag this and get you expelled.
3. Online search: Students can attempt to search for answers online using a separate device (typically a phone) using Google, ChatGPT, Quizlet, etc – if you luck out and get a proctor who is working the night shift (in India) and doesn’t notice you using your phone while you’re being watched on webcam this might work. If the subject is tough you are likely to run out of time because of the extra delay in looking up answers causes a huge lag.
4. Virtual Machine Cheating: As we have covered before Virtual Machine based cheating is only available to the select few who are technicality competent enough to install virtual machine software, create a virtual machine, install an operating system, and then taking the Examity exam inside the virtual machine. This works because Examity is not capable of detecting virtual machines. But again if the subject is tough looking up the answers will cause too big a lag and leave you at risk of not finishing all the questions.
5. Impersonation: With Examity proctored exams there’s the option of having someone else take the exam on your behalf, hoping the proctor doesn’t notice the difference or by using forged identification. This is like something out of the T.V. Show “Suits” and requires way too much effort. Also the risk is substantial as the other person will be on video pretending to be you being recorded (creating a record). Given the risks, this is highly inadvisable.
6. Pre-exam sharing: If you can get someone else to take the exam early and share the questions with you from memory or screen recording, that can allow you to cheat on Examity exams with ease. But this counts on the exam questions not changing and you having access to someone who will take the test and do poorly the first time.
7. Screen sharing: Students wanting to cheat on Examity typically find that screen-sharing applications coupled with an expert tutor in the subject is one of the best ways to cheat and pass Examity proctored exams. Why? Because when you are using a screen sharing application that Examity proctors cannot detect then this offers the lowest latency (allowing the expert tutor to just select the answers for you and making sure you do not run out of time). Also this method is least likely to be detected by the proctors (unlike taking pictures of the screen with your phone).

If you have an expert tutor connected into your computer and selecting the answers on the exam the external webcam pointed at you won’t notice anything unusual. As far as the Examity proctor watching you is concerned you are sitting in front of the computer taking the exam. While in reality an expert tutor is controlling your computer selecting the answers to the Examity test. This is one of the best ways to cheat on Examity. If you try to use a phone to take pictures of the screen however the Examity external camera can likely detect you doing so and flag the attempt to your school.

No. Examity proctors connect to a test takers computer using Zoom and check for applications that are not authorized manually. No! Examity does not track your eyes during exams. Most webcams do not offer the level of resolution to be able to do this consistently. They do however track your head movements and arm movements.
